Sketching pencils for technical and artistic drawing. The high-quality mechanics hold a lead with a stroke width of 5.6 mm and the very soft hardness 5B as standard. The Kaweco sketch up has a comfortable weight for writing and drawing.
The metallic body is made of high quality brass or aluminum. It gives this writing utensil its special feel and elegance. The raw brass version is made without surface protection and developes patina over time.
There is a sharpener in the removable handle.
The earliest preserved copy of a mechanical pencil was found in the wreckage the HMS Pandora, which sank in 1791. The frigate was sent out to arrest the mutineers of the Bounty.
