A traditional painter’s color, Burnt Umber is made by heating Raw Umber, which transforms it from a dark greenish brown to a dark brown with a hint of red tones. When mixed with a bit of white, it becomes a warm, tortoise shell brown. This rich earth pigment is lightfast, low-staining and popular with artists.
