ANTONIO LÓPEZ GARCÍA
"In art, there is a really decisive thing: there must be something to say"
(Tomelloso, Spain)
Considered the father of the hyperrealist school of Madrid, Antonio López is one of the most authentic artists belonging to the Spanish contemporary realism.
His work is notable for its analytical sense of reality. He is an artist who searches for the everyday aspects in the world around him, paying incredible attention to detail. Temporality and deterioration of his subject matter are concepts which define his hyperrealist style.
In his words, "Truth replaces beauty".
There is no doubt the realism Antonio López achieves is because of his ability, his clinical eye, and his wisdom as painter. However, reliability on the brushes he uses also contributes to his spectacular work, specifically the RÚSTICO series made of mongoose hair. A first limited edition set includes the three most used sizes in series 4127, a small size 1, a medium 8 and a large 14.
The artist´s second set contains brushes from CLÁSICO series. The brushes are made of white hog bristle and are also a part of his collection. Included are the two brights series 4628 in size 8 & 16 and a 5131 round size 2.
